The 300 acre Brooklyn Navy Yard industrial site involves emerging, high growth industries that are based in technology and reinventing Architecture and itself. Over 5.1 million square feet is being constructed and the future is looking bright with the recent newly announced mega developments.
Pacific Park
The former 22 acre Atlantic Yards, now Pacific Park, has built 782 affordable housing units of the promised 2,250 well after a decade of planning. The mixed use residential and commercial development recently announced a new mega project in its best to meet its 2025 targeted completion date.

85 Jay Street, Brooklyn, New York
The transformation of one of Dumbo’s long-undeveloped tracts of land is finally moving forward. The site is being prepped for its conversion into a 1.1 million square foot mixed use development.The site is part of the state Department of Environmental Conservation brownfield remediation program, and work to clean up the site is now underway.
Green Point Developments, Green Point Landing: Brooklyn, New York
Green Point Landing towers and a standalone seven story building will bring 745 rentals to the area. Thirty percent of those apartments will be earmarked as affordable and integrated throughout one of the two towers. The 30 and 40 story towers are part of the 22 acre Green Point Landing development. The development will see Eagle and Dupont streets extended towards the East River, and rise between them on the waterfront. The sites formerly served industrial uses, and have been closed off to the public. The mixed-use buildings will also have 8,600 square feet of ground-floor retail. Construction is poised to begin this summer.
9 DeKalb Avenue, Brooklyn, New York
Planned to be the Tallest Tower to Rise in Brooklyn, the project would eventually feature 425 rental units, 30 percent of which will be set aside as affordable housing, as well as 150 condominiums and 120K SF of retail space. Over the landmarked Dime Savings Bank and has faced years of challenges to find financing. Development will start this summer and is slated to be complete by 2022.
Gowanus Rezoning Proposal new update
The proposal is based off of the framework prepared by DCP , and builds off of some of the key points of that framework: creating more housing including affordable, prioritizing space for light industrial and cultural institutions, and cleaning up the Superfund adjacent neighborhood.
